FlexStream MX-400TS – TS Multiplexer

The FlexStream MX-400TS is the West Pond broadcast quality multiplexer in its purest form. When purchased without any option modules this multi-input, multi-output TS multiplexer will process up to 500 Mb/s from IP sources and IP outputs. The maximum throughput is content dependent but there are no software limits on the number of TS inputs or outputs supported. Special features include PSIP table merging, ATSC parental control overrides, a user friendly Web based UI with video thumbnails of all inputs, and front panel full motion video display of all mux inputs. Supported TS sources include an integrated video server (TS file spooling), TSoIP video/IPTV, RTSP (i.e. security cameras), and ASI (option). The multiplexer output can deliver transport streams over IP, integrated multi-standard RF modulators (option), and/or ASI (option). SMPTE 2022 (proMPEG) FEC is available on all IP inputs and outputs. Use the standard configuration or add up to 9 modulators to create an edge QAM mux or add ASI to convert IP to ASI or ASI to IP. Of course the entire system can be remotely managed via FlexDM.

The MX-400TS has be configured to perform the functionality of the following traditional headend components.

Headend Components Integrated:

Video Server / Streamer: Load 30 hours or more of video files onto the MX-400 and create custom TV channels via our built in video server. Create a looping playlist or schedule playback at specific times. Manage channels and video content on one or more systems using FlexDM.

Demux-Remux Multichannel Multiplexer: Our integrated scalable broadcast quality multiplexer replaces the need for external rack mounted multiplexers.

GigE Switch: 4 internal GigE ports reduce the need for and external managed switch and simplify wiring in a mixed LAN environment. Our system can communicate with your IPTV LAN, your in-house LAN, security cameras, and other devices while still leaving spare ports to manage the system.

Multi-channel modulator: The MX-400 supports up to 5 frequency and modulation agile modulators.
Monitor TV / IRD: The MX-400 front panel display reduces the need for IRDs or diagnostic TVs. The front panel QVGA screen provides a live view of every multiplexer input. The RF monitor tuner (optional) scans all channels simplifying installation and enabled diagnosing and resolving issues remotely.
