Hospitality AV Management Solutions

Over the last decade, revenue models have changed in the hospitality industry.  Room phones and TVs no longer bring in returns they used to.  West Pond’s AV Management solution reduces media operating costs while supporting new avenues for room income.

Among the guests, smart phones, mobile devices and streaming apps are ubiquitous.  Unfortunately, this has reduced revenue from telephone calls and pay-per-view TV and hotels are facing pressure to find other ways to increase revenue from guests while reducing the expenses.

Whether you are a property owner looking to reduce subscription TV fees, a local publisher looking to drive business through local attractions, hotel TV channels, or a property manager with new services and amenities to advertise with digital signage and in-house cable TV systems, West Pond has a hospitality solution for you.

West Pond’s FlexStream technology addresses the evolving hospitality industries needs by enhancing guest content while cutting costs and generating new revenue channels.

  • Create your own custom channels and enhance in-house cable TV channel lineups.
  • Use integrated over-the-air ATSC tuners and video capture ports to create a subscription free in-house cable TV network.
  • Add channels from pre-recorded media to create amenities channels and promotional channels for local attractions.
  • Use hotel cameras to show activities in hotel lobbies and other common waiting areas.
  • Use DVD players to complement your channel line-up with third party media channels.
  • Generate revenues through video wrappers with advertisements, event announcements, specials, and other guest information on displays in common areas, bars, and breakfast rooms.
  •  Manage the TV content and infrastructure of one or more properties from anywhere using West Pond’s FlexDM remote management system.

Channels From Recorded Video Files

West Pond has made it easy to create your own TV channel from a collection of recorded files. Any video you can record or capture to a file can be played back as a channel. Collect files from DVDs, mobile phones, video editing tools, power point, or any video capture device and then use the West Pond FlexDM transcoding service to convert the files to a TV compatible format and manage the new channel using FlexDM’s remote access capabilities. This suite of products is perfect for publishing promotional media or local chamber of commerce videos as TV channels. If you have multiple properties, FlexDM will manage the new TV channels on all properties as a single group.

Video Wrapper Channels

The video wrapper will scale the video and wrap the remaining screen area with one of our templates to create a signage channel with information your guest will appreciate. Display weather, airport information, specials, amenities, hotel events and announcements with live TV. You can use one of our pre-built templates, or work with West Pond’s creative services design team to make the perfect layout for you.

PCs, Cable/Satellite TV Boxes, DVD Players, and VCRs

Feed select content onto your house cable TV network using the HDMI, component, or composite video capture port on the MX-400HY or MX-200CC. Note: Composite, Component, and HDMI (without HDCP) connection required.

Integrated DVR (Digital Video Recorder)

Any input source can be recorded for playback at any time. Broadcast and record your live events via video capture and IPTV camera sources. Play them back at any time for future enjoyment. The integrated DVR will record any input source, store it digitally, and play it back at specified time or in a loop with other stored media

Broadcast TV Channels

Create terrestrial TV channels as a backup for satellite rain fade, or as your primary source of local TV with the MX-400HY’s built in quad ATSC tuner. Use this feature to add dozens of channels to your in-house cable TV lineup. You can use all of the broadcast channels, or cherry pick from the lineup to remove infomercial channels and others with content not appropriate for your audience.

Indoor and Outdoor Camera Channels

WiFi and LAN cameras are inexpensive devices that can be mounted in indoor or outdoor public areas and accessed by any connected device. That includes West Pond’s MX-400HY or MX-200CC. You can place IP cameras where they show guests the lobby, ski lift lines, pool crowds, current weather, beach views, and nearby vistas and then map them to a TV channel using one of the FlexStream MX products.

Customized Content For In-Room and Lobby TVs

West Pond’s device features allow you to show customized content, signage or programs on your in room TVs or other digital displays throughout the hotel. Video wrappers are the most popular display method and show up surrounding the video stream itself. You can display graphics, photos, text, fonts, other videos, weather forecast, events, and more.

With our video wrapper capabilities, you can scale the video input of your choice and wrap the remaining screen area with one of our templates to show time, current temperature, local trivia, sponsor’s logos, local features, and more. Customize the templates to meet your needs, or work with West Pond’s Creative Services team to make the perfect TV media channel for you.
