The MX-400 is the newest member of West Pond’s multiplexer family. This multi-input/multi-output NxM transport stream multiplexer can process transports streams up to 800 mb/s. The number of input and output transport streams is not software restricted and is limited only by the MX-400 processing power and the transport stream composition. The 1RU form factor supports up to four expansion modules providing a wide variety of multiplexer input sources and output TS targets. Video inputs include HDMI, Component, Composite, HD-SDI, DTV tuners, ASI, and IPTV. Outputs include IPTV, ASI, and DTV modulated RF. West Pond provides a variety of market specific software packages including the TS ( transport stream multiplexing ), ST ( stadium ), the HY ( hospitality ), SR ( datacasting ) and the IO ( datacasting video encoder ). MX-400 base model, the backbone for all MX-400 systems

 

The MX-400 base model software begins with the FlexStream multichannel (NxM) multiplexer. The entire software package is optimized for multiplexing and as such the MX-400 can process up to 800 mb/s of transport stream data. The maximum throughput is content dependent but there are no software limits on the number of TS inputs or outputs supported. Special features include PSIP table merging, automated multicast IPTV channel discovery, a user friendly Web based UI, and front panel video monitoring for all mux inputs. Supported TS sources include an integrated video server (TS file spooling), TSoIP video/IPTV, RTSP (i.e. security cameras), and ASI. The multiplexer output can deliver transports streams over IP, integrated multi-standard RF modulators, and/or ASI. SMPTE 2022 (proMPEG) FEC is available on all IP inputs and outputs.

Stadium alert system, video wrapping signage, and display controls

The MX-400ST software package complements existing in-house cable TV networks by merging HTML graphics with stadium video to create dynamic multimedia HDTV channels which can be tuned by one or all stadium TVs. With this system stadium TVs can be used for concession stand menu boards, crowd routing, welcome messages, game information, score boards, emergency and informational alerts, and digital signage without the added costs of a set top box, cat 5 wiring, or changes to the house cable TV coax network. The advertising features of the MX-400ST, combined with the low cost installation and quick start HTML presentation templates, provide a turnkey revenue generating solution. Stadiums TVs are quickly transformed from simple linear video monitors to dynamic multimedia displays containing game video, advertisements, game stats, time, temperature, weather, traffic, social media photos, stadium alerts, and of course the game score and other score board information. There's no need to learn a new content management and editing tool, our system is based upon standard web HTML. No special skills are required. Secure Datacasting Server and IP Encapsulator

The MX-400SR is based upon the MX-400 and specifically configured for datacasting. It replaces the iconic 2U FlexStream-SR, featured in this PBS promotional video, as West Pond’s datacasting broadcast interface.

The MX-400SR datacasting server uses IP encapsulation, content encryption, and DSMCC style data carousels to distribute computer files, Internet content, and A/V streams over unidirectional transports such as satellite and terrestrial broadcast TV. Adaptive Bitrate Video Encoder and VMS Interface Server

The MX-400IO is based upon the MX-400 and specifically configured to deliver live AV content to the MX-400SR Datacasting Server for distribution to a secure audiance. Content is sourced from a number of well know video management systems (VMS) or captured from an HDMI, HD-SDI, or IP (RTSP security cameras). All content is encrypted and dynamically encoded to meet the VBR bandwidth requirements of the MX-400SR. Camera selection is controlled by the VMS software so that no additional user training is required. Encoding parameters, source selection, and other MX-400IO features are configured via the WebUI or under customer control through a REST management API. The MX-400IO supports the MX-400SR content encryption and targetting.
