West Pond Technologies and West Pond Enterprises together develop products that enhance or enable local cable and wireless cable (DTV white space) networks. Our products include headend transmission equipment, managed receivers, and display controllers. Our markets include hospitality, digital signage, and public/education/government (PEGS).

Established in 2011, West Pond Technologies provides engineering services to variety companies. Large or small, local or international, short term or continuous, our team is ready to help bring your products to life. We are motivated to continue our tradition of satisfied customers, many of which have provided reference or comment to this web site. Our goal is to make every customer a repeat customer, a commitment which we continue today.

In 2013, West Pond Enterprises was created to develop products based upon West Pond Technologies' expertise. Initially specializing in DTV white space technology, West Pond Enterprises (WPE) has expanded the FlexStream product line to include devices that optimize the value of coax wire infrastructure typically found in hotels, stadiums, local access TV, and educational facilities. WPE products are sold with the FlexStream brand as well as with third party private labels.

  • Steve Hastings

    President and CEO

    Prior to West Pond Technologies, Steve was a founder and Engineering Vice President at UpdateLogic where he guided a team of engineers to design and develop a nationwide datacasting network. This network is currently used to distribute software updates to consumer digital televisions, distribute digital signage content, and transfer other proprietary data. Prior to UpdateLogic, Steve managed a team of consulting engineers at Vibren Technologies (a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation) and Rachis Corporation (an early enabler of interactive TV). At Rachis, Steve was a cofounder and V.P. of Engineering. In this position, Steve guided a 60 member team of engineers and project managers to provide project based professional services for dozens of Fortune 500 communications companies. Steve was also AVP of Engineering at SystemSoft Corporation (IPO 1994) and a CPU designer at Prime Computer. Steve’s other interests include farming, time lapse photography, and interactive digital signage.

  • Nathan Ford

    Chief Technology Architect

    Prior to West Pond Technologies, Nathan led many strategic software development efforts at UpdateLogic. These included core components of the UpdateTV terrestrial datacast network, satellite communications, hot folder uplink, security algorithms and infrastructure, and integrated datacast receiver. Nate’s talent for accelerated prototype development helped launch many UpdateLogic products. Prior to UpdateLogic, Nathan provided technology services to the medical industry at Eastern Maine Healthcare. Nathan was also a key contributor to the Warp Pipe Project. The Warp Pipe project is an application that creates an efficient communication tunnel to allow LAN enabled GameCube games to interact across the internet. The resulting tunneling daemon manipulated ARP, DHCP, UPNP, and IP data packets at the network layer.

  • Tripp Blair

    Chairman

    Tripp is a seasoned technology industry veteran with more than 25 years of operational experience. Tripp current consults to start-up technology companies in the Boston area in the areas of business development, fund raising and overall strategic planning. From January 2005 until November 2007, Tripp was President and CEO of UpdateLogic a provider of firmware updates for digital television devices. Tripp helped raise over $5 M of seed and institutional capital to facilitate UpdateLogic’s product development, deployment and agreements with CableLabs and Sony, Samsung, Sharp and Hitachi.

    Tripp has also worked at many other companies, such as GrandBanks Captial as an Executive-in-Residence, uLocate Communications as President and CEO until it was bought by eBay, WaveMark Technologies as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing until that was sold to Motorola's Semiconductor Product Sector and he continued as a marketing exec with Motorola. He also co-founded Praxsys Technologies and as President and CEO, directed its growth and subsequent sale to Sun Microsystems in 1992.
